What is Heavy HeartZ?
A community built on the belief that everyone is resilient and resourceful — and that no one should carry a heavy heart alone.
Heavy HeartZ's mission is to inspire the community to help stop the violence through partnership and collaboration with community resources and community engagement.
Heavy HeartZ was founded under the belief that everyone is resilient and resourceful. Our goal is to provide mentorship to our youth and families regardless of their skin color or sexual orientation, providing a safe haven — a community center — for all.
Tutoring, mentorship, job training, financial literacy, and spiritual/motivational coaching are just some of the services we provide. Through training, education, awareness, and assistance, we are devoted to improving the overall quality of life.
Heavy HeartZ is here to draw out every person's resilience and resourcefulness to aid them in overcoming the heavy hearts of our community.
Our Founder
Born from loss, built on healing
"After suffering the trauma and tragic murder of her brother to gun violence, Sheila decided to stand up and support the community by creating healthy outlets for grief."
With over 7 years of mental health experience, Sheila believes that you can't understand grief until you've lived it. With the assistance of partners, Sheila has created a support group for anyone in need — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Grief has no hour.
By creating these outlets, she's assisted families with getting back to life after grief, with hopes that one day, turning everyone's pain into peace.
